ADRIAN LYNE - Director
Lyne made his feature filmmaking debut in 1980 with Foxes, a perceptive look at the friendship between four teenage girls growing up in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley. The film starred a young Jodie Foster.
The follow-up to his promising debut was Flashdance (1983), an innovative blend of rock'n'roll, new dance styles and breathtaking imagery that enthralled movie audience worlwide.
The powerful mix of Lyne's bravura visual style and Giorgio Moroder's evocative score propelled this modern-day Cinderella tale to the status of an international smash hit. It was also nominated for three Academy Awards with the theme song, What a Feeling, winning the Oscar for Best Song.
