STEPHEN SCHIFF (Screenwriter) is currently working as a staffwriter for The New Yorker, where he writes feature-length cultural profiles, essays and criticism. He was for nine years Film Critic of National Public Radio's Fresh Air.

Although he first established his reputation as a film critic (and served an unprecedented three terms as chaiman of the National Society of Film Critics), he became better known for his work as the Critic-at-Large of the prestigious Vanity Fair from 1983 to 1992. Vaclav Havel, Philip Roth, Mick Jagger, Steven Spielberg are among the many figures he profiles for The New Yorker and Vanity Fair.
